As AHEA’s Chief Executive Officer, Benjamin Shank vigorously pursues the mission and vision of the organization through his focus on institutional and student development.
With almost two decades of experience in higher education and global engagement, Mr. Shank brings a solid commitment to international education and international cultural exchanges.
Mr. Shank's leadership has transformed Keiser University—originally a commuter university—into a higher education institution, boasting a diverse body of students from around the world. This evolution, led by Mr. Shank and his team, included the development and coordination of policies and procedures to be carried out by over 3,500 employees at 17 campus locations, the establishment and subsequent accreditation of two international campuses, and the creation of strategic global partnerships. Under his guidance, Keiser University successfully developed partnerships and co-ops in the Caribbean, Central and South America, Asia, and Europe.
Mr. Shank is a member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators and American Council on Education (ACE). He is a sought-after speaker and presents at professional conferences on a range of topics pertaining to global leadership and engagement. Mr. Shank enjoys traveling, cooking, photography, and spending time with family.
